📢 Muswell Hill Ward Update Dear Residents, I hope you are well. Below is a brief update on incidents reported within the Muswell Hill area over the last week: 🔨 Criminal Damage | Muswell Hill Broadway A male suspect entered a store intending to steal items. Although no property was taken, the suspect caused damage to a display inside the premises. ⚠️ Public Order (Section 4A) | Church Crescent A suspect threatened to harm a victim's pet. 🌿 Concerned in the Supply of Class B Drugs | Cranley Gardens An investigation is currently ongoing. 🛍️ Shoplifting (4 offences) | Muswell Hill Broadway Reported thefts included: 📱 Theft From Person | Fortis Green Road At approximately 06:55hrs, an adult male victim had his mobile phone snatched from his hand by an unknown suspect riding an e-bike. 📱 Theft From Person | Muswell Hill Road / Grand Avenue At approximately 00:03hrs, a young adult female had her mobile phone snatched from her hand by an unknown suspect riding an e-bike. 🚗 Theft of Motor Vehicle | Woodland Rise Following the victim's report, officers quickly located the stolen vehicle, and a police pursuit was initiated. The suspects later abandoned the vehicle and made off on foot. Despite extensive area searches, the suspects were not located. The vehicle was subsequently recovered and returned to its owner. 📈 Emerging Trend There appears to be an increase in mobile phone snatch thefts involving suspects using e-bikes. These offences are often committed quickly, with offenders targeting phones being used openly in public places. 🔒 Crime Prevention Advice - Mobile Phone Snatches To help reduce your risk of becoming a victim: 📵 Avoid using your phone close to the road when possible. 👀 Stay aware of your surroundings, particularly when standing near roads, bus stops and junctions. 🤳 Hold your phone securely and avoid carrying it loosely in your hand when not actively using it. 🎧 Be mindful when wearing headphones, as they can reduce your awareness of approaching cyclists or e-bikes. 📍 Enable location tracking and ensure your phone is protected with a passcode and biometric security features. ☁️ Regularly back up important data and keep a note of your phone's IMEI number. 🚨 If you witness suspicious behaviour or become a victim of crime, report it to the police immediately.
